Outlook 2003 POP Email Setup

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2003
  2. Click theTools menu, and selectE-mail Accounts...
  3. ClickAdd a new e-mail account, and clickNext.
  4. ChoosePOP3 as your server type, and clickNext.
  5. Fill in all necessary fields to include this information:
    User Information
    Your Name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear in theFrom: field of outgoing messages.
    Email Address: Enter your full email address (username@your-domain.co.nz)

    Server Information
    Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.your-domain.co.nz
    Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.your-domain.co.nz

    Login Information
    User Name: Enter your full email addressusername@your-domain.co.nz
    Password: Enter your email password

  6. ClickMore Settings... and then click theOutgoing Server tab.
  7. Check the box next toMy outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and selectUse same settings as my incoming mail server.
  8. Click theAdvanced tab.
  9. Enter 26 in theOutgoing server (SMTP) box.
  10. ClickOK.
  11. ClickTest Account Settings... After receivingCongratulations! All tests completed successfully, clickClose.
  12. ClickNext, and then clickFinish.
  13. Download the latest updates for Outlook from Microsoft. This will help prevent the most common Outlook errors Gmail users see.
