Subdomain vs Addon Domain

Subdomain

The best way to describe a Subdomain is to use an example.
If your domain is "mydomain.co.nz", a subdomain will be "support.mydomain.co.nz".
Subdomains use your main domain name and a prefix.
They can be set up in cPanel to point to a particular folder within the web content directory (public_html).

Addon Domain

This is when a domain is "added-on" to an already existing cPanel account.
An addon domain (newdomain.co.nz) allows you to reach a Subdomain (support.mydomain.co.nz) when entering the name of the addon domain (newdomain.co.nz) into a browser.
